Main programmes
Scholarships worth knowing
We have kept the main funding programmes and grouped them by study level so that relevant options are easier to identify.
DAAD
One of the largest funding systems for international students and researchers. It offers particularly broad opportunities for master's studies, doctoral studies, and research projects.
It is not the main source of funding for a full bachelor's degree.
Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters
Joint international master's programmes involving study in at least two countries and competitive scholarships for strong candidates from around the world.
One of the strongest full-funding opportunities for master's studies.
Deutschlandstipendium
A national scholarship awarded by participating German universities. At some universities, students of all nationalities may apply.
Especially relevant for students who are applying to or already studying in Germany.
Begabtenförderungswerke
A group of major German foundations supporting talented students and doctoral candidates. Each foundation has its own target groups and rules.
Not all foundations are equally accessible to international students, so eligibility needs to be checked individually.
Foundations and organisations
Private, public-interest, and research organisations offer funding programmes targeted by subject, region, and applicant type.
Targeted research based on your profile is especially important here.
University scholarships
Some universities offer their own scholarships, grants, completion funding, or special programmes for international students.
Many of these opportunities become available only after admission.
Specifically for bachelor's studies
What is realistically worth considering
Full funding for bachelor's studies is less common than for master's programmes, but this does not mean there are no options.
Deutschlandstipendium
Kazakh citizenship alone does not exclude participation. For example, the University of Bonn explicitly allows students of all nationalities, including prospective first-year students, to apply.
Applications are usually handled by the individual university. Deadlines and criteria vary.
Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Friedrich Ebert Foundation
The programme for international students includes bachelor's studies and accepts applicants from former CIS countries, including Kazakhstan.
Especially suitable for strong students with social engagement and good German language skills.
Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Konrad Adenauer Foundation
The foundation's international programme supports international bachelor's students at German universities. Applications are possible after completing the second semester.
Suitable for academically strong and socially engaged candidates with good German language skills.
Europa-Universität Viadrina Scholarship
In 2026, the university offers a motivation scholarship for first-year bachelor's students from Kazakhstan and several other countries.
For the 2026/27 period, the published application deadline is 30 September 2026.
How we work
From a chaotic search to a clear plan
The main value of support is not submitting more applications, but applying where your profile can realistically be competitive.
Separate opportunities by study level
Scholarships for bachelor's, master's, and PhD studies work differently. We immediately remove programmes that do not fit your level.
Build a realistic shortlist
We search based not on popularity, but on citizenship, study level, country, deadlines, and your profile.
Build the application strategy
We determine which achievements and experiences should be central to the application, which programmes are priorities, and where a backup option is needed.
Prepare and review the application
We structure the motivation, CV, references, and other materials for the specific scholarship and monitor the deadlines.
A&B Study support
A strong application starts with the right programme
Even an excellent motivation letter will not help if the programme does not fit your study level, citizenship, or timing. That is why we build the strategy first and work on the documents second.
We do not guarantee a scholarship. The decision is made by the foundation or university. Our role is to improve the quality of the process from programme selection to the final application review.
Search for suitable scholarships
We shortlist programmes based on study level, citizenship, profile, deadlines, and realistic eligibility.
Competitiveness assessment
We review academic results, experience, projects, achievements, and social engagement.
Application strategy
We identify the strongest argument for your candidacy and adapt your positioning to the specific programme.
Motivation letter
We help make the text specific, evidence-based, and connected to the goals of the selected scholarship.
CV and references
We structure the documents so that key achievements are easy to identify and evaluate.
Final review
We check completeness, application logic, deadlines, and compliance with the requirements before submission.

Frequently asked questions
What you should know before applying
Are there real bachelor's scholarships for students from Kazakhstan? +
Yes, but there are considerably fewer than for master's and PhD studies. Students from Kazakhstan can consider Deutschlandstipendium, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the international programme of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and individual university programmes. For example, in 2026 Europa-Universität Viadrina published a special motivation scholarship for first-year bachelor's students from Kazakhstan.
Can I get DAAD funding for a full bachelor's degree in Germany? +
DAAD offers opportunities for students at different levels, but funding a full bachelor's degree in Germany is not one of its typical main funding areas. Bachelor's applicants should therefore also consider other sources.
Do I already need to be admitted to a university? +
It depends on the scholarship. Some programmes accept prospective students, while others require you to be enrolled already or to have completed part of your studies.
Can I apply for several scholarships at the same time? +
In many cases, yes. However, rules on combining funding differ, so if you receive several offers, you need to check separately whether the payments can be combined.
Do you guarantee a scholarship? +
No. The decision is made by the foundation, university, or selection committee. Our role is to find suitable programmes, exclude clearly irrelevant options, and prepare the application as professionally as possible.
